AquaWater09901 have you confirmed that this works to get you to 28MPH? Also recognize you have the Big Swell I believe. Have been trying this on the Big Sur, as others have said, perhaps with other models as well they haven't been able to change it.

Perhaps you even have a different LCD Display? I can see on the back of mine it says it is Model AK47.

I have tried searching for hacks on Model AK47 but haven't come up with anything, but see this is in fact the display as quantities can be bought from Alibaba etc, showing this display.

I did notice I can get to some type of undocumented menu on mine with PO levels and settings by holding down the up and down at the same time while the display is on.

Edit:

Ah, I figured out how to remove the limit!!

These PO settings look to be standard.
So get to the PO settings by holding the Up/Down at the same time after the LCD is on.
Click on the power button to go through the PO's.
PO8 is the limit! This is in kmh, this was set to 32, bump this up with the up arrow to 41. That is the max I could change it to. This works out to 25.5 mph.
After this change I can get to 25mph going down a hill.
On a straight road I can cruise at about 22 with full throttle. Pedaling fast like crazy I can get it up 24.

So this is a bit of an increase. Perhaps with a bigger front sprocket I could peddle a bit normally and get to 25.

Perhaps it is a limit of the 350W motor or the battery to get me with throttle to 23 or so, but I don't think the controller itself will let me go above 41kph with motor assist.

Possibly changing wheel size, PO6, would allow assist at faster speed?

FYI, I see some people have commented about their having 5 instead of 3 levels. This can be set in the PO5 setting.

Here are the PO settings for an entirely different controller, but they look pretty close from what I see. https://elecbikeparts.com/pages/s...ser-manual

There could be some other cool settings to see what they are and work with them.

for example: P12 PAS Start Strength
0-5, Higher = more assistance
Amount of assistance given when you start pedaling.

I am thinking this must be low. It seems to give very little help right away. Perhaps a safety feature set at factory? But I want help right away!

Or PO9 might affect how quickly it helps?
P09 Throttle Response
0 for instant throttle, 1 for delayed throttle
Sets whether pressing throttle and motor beginning to spin is instant, or whether there is a delay between the actions.

Edit: P09 was already set at 0 and can't be changed
P12 was set at 3 and can't go higher, but it can go lower.

FYI, read on this site https://power-bicycle.com/ebike-power/ that hub motors are pretty much limited to 25.

"Once the ebike is travelling at 25 MPH, the controller-wheel speed is maxed out. You can't go far over 25 MPH on most hub motors unless the motor & controller pair are designed for higher speeds."

This guy also talks about a smoothing circuit the mfgs implement for greater distance. Something about a loop back wire that can be removed to increase initial assistance but at
a sacrifice in distance.

Is this random china stuff?

Not a lot of reviews. I got a warning going to this site (possibly fraudulent?).

Why don't they sell any ebikes on their non-corporate site?

Is anyone else concerned this is a knockoff? Joyridebikes.com is the original site (since 2001) selling Hurley and joyridebike.com (since 2015) is painted with 'weird' all over it.

My situation is that I have two very bad hips at only 33, will need surgeries eventually, am 5'8 now…
How much pedaling does the assist need on the big swell? Does it take some physical effort?

I miss being outside. Thanks
The big swell can be used Throttle only, no peddling required on modes 1-5. The mini swell needs to get up to 3 to 5 mph before you can use throttle only.

I purchased the Hang 5 eScooter last Friday and it arrived on Thursday. I got it for my 12 y/o daughter to ride to school (there are a lot of factors that make an eScooter the best way for her to get there), and tested it out myself first, of course. It handled my dad bod fine and was pretty comfortable and quick to accelerate. I'm impressed by it, given the price, and my daughter loves it. It's pretty solidly built and everything worked perfectly out of the box.

how does the diablo compare to aventon or similar brands like that in terms of value. I would pull the trigger on diablo but what's stopping me is that the motor is only 350 and its probably hub based not mid drive.
btw i don't live in florida where everywhere is flat. so many hills around me and it get's exhausting to go up these hills and i feel like these 350 hub motors are not enough, especially with the weight of the diablo
also im afraid how easily parts will be replaced like brakes or the chain.

how does the diablo compare to the radmission for $899: https://slickdeals.net/f/15994294-radmission-electric-hybrid-bike-899?src=rcm_category_h

none of these seem to be well provisioned for cargo, I'd actually like to use a bike for commuting.

How are people liking these bikes? Finding it hard to pull the trigger when the motor is just 350w
That's the main thing that's holding me back. From what I have read 500W is the minimum you want if planning to ride any hills. The equivalent Rad Power Bikes are 500W-750W, which is primarily why these are so cheap.

I can compare 250W and 750W (not these brands, though) going up hills, and it's a world of difference. My 250W can't make it up a steep hill on throttle alone and it's a bit of work while peddling, but quite doable. My 750W can do a steep hill on throttle alone and just lose a bit of speed. I'd believe that 350W will still make you work, but 500W should be enough to go up hills easily.

The Rad Mission has no front suspension, but has a 500W motor vs. Diablo 350W. Like the integrated battery design of the Diablo though.

I have been looking at options for someone my size 5'5" and narrowed down between Thruster and Swell (not the big or mini). Not much comments or videos on the swell but tons of info on the big swell and mini. Anyone have one or have feedback? I did find it for less on Jenson USA $839 on joyride , $792 on Jenson. Saw there is also a 15% off promo if you enter email but not sure if it stacks

yes the positives of the diablo are it's easy to just unbox and just go. it has a kickstand, it has integrated battery and steel frame might be better than aluminum in terms of durability. the battery is replaceable. it's a very good entry level bike, but for those of us who live in very hilly areas, i think it's motor will barely do the trick and will be out of gas on those steep hills. so for my case i need to get at least a mid drive or 500w motor. but for those on just mostly flat lands like in florida and ready to retire, this is great. also this price is banging, when the regular price is at $1,000 or even more for the Hurley Tailwind. my main fear of this bike is that once a part breaks and I cannot replace or fix it, it will just become garbage and take up space in my garage. just my two cents.

I am going up some short but nasty hills with 350W. Yes you can't just sit on throttle and go 20 mph up hill, but you are wanting to ride a bike, right? Maybe actually use your legs a little bit? I guess if I just wanted to twist and go I would get on my gas scooter.
Everyone's needs are different. I want to peddle a bit and ride a bike. It is a pleasure going up the hills on a 350W. What a breeze compared to the full out gut wrenching effort I used to need to put in!!
I am glad I can't just twist and go up a hill at 25mph, because I know I am too lazy, and that is what I would end up doing instead of adding a little of my own effort to it!

I'm getting the feeling, from reading a bunch of these cheap ebike threads, that you are wrong, at least in regards to a lot of people. There are so many comments about throttle only, top speed, hacking it to go faster, etc. - it just doesn't seem like riding an ebike for exercise is much of a priority.

I've ridden plenty of pedal assist ebikes but the second there's a throttle the pedals become truly an assist (for me). And yes I'm guilty of being in the camp of using the ebike as an around town car alternative… although just holding on to the handle bars and going over bumps in these bikes is more of a work out than just sitting in a car.
