We Got i5 11th gen. 16gb 256. Totally different.

Was on the fence about keeping them but they are working flawlessly

At $250 most of the specs are pretty good.

Bonus: it does not overheat Win11 update was smooth as silk.

Drawbacks: no backlit keyboard, wifi5

Not expecting a lot at this price range but got decent specs for something easy to travel with and be as functional as a larger, bulkier, home laptop

He's probably better off with a 17.3" Chromebook? 14" FHD at native resolutions might be hard to see, and if you set the zoom higher, then it'd be a lot of scrolling on that 14" display.

I'm looking for one with a backlit keyboard and IPS screen for under 150.

I went and grabbed the acer also to try them both out. I bought the Gateway the other day. I'll run them both this week and see which one I prefer. On paper, the gateway looks better spec-wise.

Do let me know what you come up with. Currently I have both of them. Sealed. Still deciding. Even though I'm leaning toward the Acer. Yes. On paper it looks like gateway is better. However I guess there's been some reviews that are not too kind. So let me know please

I haven't purchased ACER yet. But rethinking if Gateway is good or not. Never heard about this brand. ACER is popular brand compared to Gateway but specs are good with Gateway laptop.
