Because Brother home printers are workhorses. All the Brother printers I've ever owned have been super reliable and work for years and years. All the other brand printers I've owned (e.g., Lexmark, Canon) crapped out, were intermittently unreliable, or needed frequent attention.

It's a shame that HP bought Samsung's printer division. Samsung had a nice laser printer lineup prior to that, and the deals were pretty regular on them. Snagged an all-in-one with a document feeder for my Mom back in 2019, for $79.99 shipped. It was to replace an HP that was costing her an arm and a leg to run, and she was so happy with the Samsung.

Was looking at the 2390DW new for $190 this morning then saw this. $142 after the promo code is easier to swallow. You can get the 2325DW new from Walmart for $110 right now. $30 for scanning and print speed (I don't need) is better than $80.

Walmart also has the MFCL2690DW for $170 new, although availability is on again off again. Might want to check stock in your area stores on their website. Pretty nice price for new with an ADF.

Supply and demand; there's been a printer shortage for the last couple of years. Actually supply is tight on most everything lately, which fuels inflation. When something is in big demand, they have no reason to discount it. It'll sell at the higher price all day.
