Eating this for protein is like drinking Gatorade for electrolytes. Sure there's _some_ good stuff in it, but it's mostly sugar. it's better to consume something else that's not packed with sugar

Good deal on Clif bars, but the severe stretching of "protein bar" definition these days gets me up in arms due to my SD alert going off and it only being like 2g more protein than a regular old granola bar.

Great price. Other flavors too. You'll probably get the box we returned from the Clif bar deal last month. We returned (chocolate brownie) because they were dry and tasteless. Big difference from the usual experience with Clif bars

These are 1/3 sugar by volume which is awful.

Also calling these energy bars is a stretch. These bars are no more "energy" bars than Snickers bars.

That being said, do these have a strong banana flavor that isn't chemical-ly?

Not sure if it has a chemical taste but it's made with "natural flavors" which is a lab created flavoring.

Just had one. They do not have a "strong" banana flavor but its there, and it is not chemical-ly.

When did cliff start marketing this line as protein? They used to have a whey protein bar that was lower in sugar, but there were better ones in the market.

Wait til you learn that marathoners actually do drink gatorate (for both electrolytes and sugar). That said, no, one should not use Clif bars for protein. They are good for workout energy but not the best option by any means.
