I realize it's a budget model, but that "stunning" display is TN:

That numberpad design on a 14"er is interesting though. I wonder if it is uable in linux. Just a very slight wonder though. Probably still a pass.

I think the 14" Gateway at Walmart that's been floating around forever is a better deal (link [walmart.com]). Same bad specs, same inclusion of Microsoft Office, but it comes with a free carrying case and an IPS display and costs $23 less. The only downsides compared to this model are the lack of a backlit keyboard and worse customer service if you need to reach out to Gateway.

No, it's soldered onto the motherboard and there's no extra slot.

That was a different model with a 720p display and no backlit keyboard. It did have the same bad processor and combo of 4GB of RAM and 64GB EMMC storage though.

I'm not saying it's a bad deal. However, imo spend $300 and get a budget model with a 14-15 inch display, an nvme ssd and 8gb ram and a ryzen3/Intel i3 type cpu.

Both are essentially chromebook style laptops. LIght browsing and office work is all these are good for.

If you dont care about installing an alternative OS, the Samsung go will give you much better battery life. Otherwise, specs are similar and the screen is equally horrible.

I bought it for $99 at Best Buy and it works great for me as I only use it to surf the web & stream videos. The only downside is that the BB model does not have backlit keyboard.Cool2

The ONLY reason I'd get the one in this thread is if I needed a fanless laptop. (Great for our warehouse to run windows based inventory software exclusively)

We have one with similar specs and it SUCKS for everything else. Save up a hundred more and get something worth using if you aren't looking to run some old legacy windows software in a warehouse.

Backlit keyboard is not worth $50. This is a bad deal.
This model is EOL and will come back for sale at $99 -- with or without backlit keyboard.

been using this from a month for daytrading purpose, i switched out of windows s mode, it was too slow when i did,i figured out a way turning off all background apps while system is on and also during startup,it was good after that, i use 8-9 hrs a day continuously, during that 8hrs it will be always on and extended to a monitor, also use live youtube channel during my trading
so far from 1 month its good
you will get a additional accidental damage warranty inside the box for 1 year
if this laptop comes 1year for my use thats more than enough
