Have owned a set for years, very durable but...not comfortable to sit in for a while.

Thanks OP.
I have used these chairs on my back porch and patio for years.
Picking up a few more at this price.
We do not leave them out in the yard when not in use. They are comfortable and stack easy.

Metal = Rust.

No thanks.
I currently have a similar set in red that has sat on my deck for the last 3 years in the blazing southern sun and humidity and I have not seen any rust

Has the material started to rot? My deck is wide open and all my patio furniture gets wet and gets sun. We have nice cushions but they go in a deck box when not in use. My aluminum furniture has stood the test of time better than any patio furniture we ever owned. I know steel will rust, but I much prefer it to anything wood or rattan if the material will last.

I've had six of these chairs sitting in my backyard for 7-8 years now. The only rust is on areas where the legs of the chairs have been nicked and the paint has flaked off. And it's just minor surface rust.

Nope the material shows no sign of aging. Just needs to be cleaned every so often and looks new again

Which of the two chairs do you own? I wonder if the more expensive one is more comfortable.

People are worried about rust on $14 outdoor chairs... I'd be more worried about fabric expanding too much and sun damage and other issues not the rust on the metal that is very easy to fix.. The mesh fabric however, not so easy or cheap. Still, $14, if you get 3 summers out of them, it's worth it.

I went and sat in both of them yesterday at my local Lowes. The slingback chair $24 was way more comfortable than the $14 one. I could see myself sitting for a long time in the slingback, but probably not too long in the cheaper one.

I bought a few of these about 6 years ago, on clearance for $5. They are still in great shape. They are lightweight and strong. Best patio chairs I have owned. They are only rusting where they have been scratched (flipped over in a wind storm and slid around).
