LEGO and Target[target.com] are offering LEGO VIP Points on LEGO purchases made at Target stores or Target.com from 7/31/2022 to 1/31/2023: Earn 1 Point for every $1 spent.
Step 1 - Snap a photo of your Target receipt
Step 2 - Register for a LEGO VIP account at lego.com/vip[lego.com] & upload your Target receipt
Step 3 - Submit your receipt and start earning VIP points
*Please note that receipts may take up to 2 business days to process
For those wondering, Lego.com gives you 6.5 points per $1 when you buy from them directly.
As many others point out, this is not a great deal 1 point per dollar at Target versus 6.5 points per dollar at Lego direct.
Target - 1 dollar = 0.769% money back via VIP points
LEGO - 1 dollar = 5% money back via VIP points
IF you use red card at target, and turn in your receipt, then shopping at target can be worth it. You would technically get 5.769% savings. 5% off from red card, and then 0.769% in VIP rewards value. Obviously double VIP at LEGO is better, and if you buy from LEGO online and leverage cash back sites, bonus.
In the end, if you are buying at target anyways, might as well get something....
Exactly, this isn't the reason to choose target, their LEGO sales are. But it's a definitely a bonus when you do buy here.

1 point per $1 spent is so insignificant as to be worthless.
As Got_Heinz stated: The LEGO website gives 6.5 points per $1 spent.
but the lego website doesn't have the same stuff in stock as target.
i am glad i could buy a set that i wanted at target and now i am still getting at least some rewards points.

I'm sure if the item is on sale, it is also valid, right? So that adds up.

I submitted 2. One for 60320 (Lego City Fire Station) and one for 60316 (Lego City Police Station).
I then submitted my order receipt emails that have the date purchased and price.
I received a response that the items were not eligible.
I don't get it.
