All I needed was 1 battery at a time so I only ordered 2 batteries, figuring one would charge while the other was in use but it won't charge just 1 battery at a time, so this was useless for my purposes. Returned it for a Panasonic eneloop because it is able to charge 1 battery at a time.

It is not clear enough from the earlier reviews -- This charger DOES NOT automatically shut off when the batteries reach full charge. It just keeps cooking them, and they do get quite hot. Can't be very good for them....
Update July 2013:
The Energizer rechargeable batteries are not particularly good either. They survive few recharging cycles than the Eneloops.
