Not hackable but a great price for the high torque impact wrench and 4ah HP battery.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

This is more suited to people who work with heavy equipment, big trucks or semi's. If you haven't found a need for more power than your mid torque then you probably don't need this.

This is the main reason a lot of people have brand loyalty to Ryobi.
They have used the same battery style since like 1999, there are people who use the old blue tools with new batteries. So if that is your worry I think you're good.

I have the mid torque which seems to be more than enough for all my car work, what's the best use for this one comparatively?

Ordered one last night. Can't wait to test it out. It claims to produce over 1100 ft-lb of break way torque. That is more than my old pneumatic one that produces 1000 ft-lb!!! Has anyone actually tested the torque on these units or are they making these claims knowing that most people won't test or don't have the means to test them?

Been waiting on a sale on this for my dad, I got the mid-torque a few weeks ago to do suspension work on my 97 Camry with and have been VERY happy with it's performance. Dad works for Ford as their lead tech at his dealership so he's been wanting to try this high torque model out, he uses a brushed 3/8" Ryobi he got and loves it, this thing will blow his mind.

Anyone know of a reliable power adapter to use in lieu of batteries?

Battery adapters or power adapters? Either way the answer to both is no. There aren't any 120v(house power) to 18v Ryobi adapters that exist (for Ryobi) and battery adapter should only be used in low amp draw tools. This comes with a 4ah HP battery so all you'll need is a charger if you don't have any Ryobi tools.

Wow, very impressive results. Ryobi finally came up with something that could compete head to head with the big boys.

I used to be a Ryobi hater for a long time but thier HP line has impressed me. My garage is slowly turning lime green.
