Great product at a good price.
Unrelated side note, if you have an older version (SATA version, rated at slower speeds) and have to do an RMA, they will send you an NVME one back.
Wish they had the 4tb available as well
Pro tip: Apple machines max out at 1000 so don't bother paying extra for the 2000 model. You need Thunderbolt 3 to go faster (tops out at 22gbps)

Yes but that 20 Gbps version requires USB 3.2 gen 2x2 that Apple doesn't support. He's not talking about the version in this thread.
Got it. Thanks.

Does anyone know if this model works with the latest Macbook Pro 16" as a time machine backup? If so, do I need any special cable to back up my Mac book pro? TIA.

Yes it works fine. It includes the cable you need albeit little short.

This SSD died while in use as a dashcam for 3 months from presumably overheating during the NE winter. I am now paying particular attention to the standard operating temperature and I'll see if that'll help with SSD longevity
SSDs do not fare well in cold temps.

Yes, anything frequently used goes on an SSD, long term storage (in my case photos and RAW files) go on my HDDs.
This is mostly for rugged backup in the field for me.

It's expired just search samsung t7 here you will find it BBY had a pricing error or drop and Amzn followed suit but it was apparently a pricing error.
