Great product at a good price.
Unrelated side note, if you have an older version (SATA version, rated at slower speeds) and have to do an RMA, they will send you an NVME one back.
Wish they had the 4tb available as well
Pro tip: Apple machines max out at 1000 so don't bother paying extra for the 2000 model. You need Thunderbolt 3 to go faster (tops out at 22gbps)

It's expired just search samsung t7 here you will find it BBY had a pricing error or drop and Amzn followed suit but it was apparently a pricing error.
T7 is good but the heat up issue is legit worrisome. T5 is much better IMO

This SSD is good, it's very small and super fast. On eBay these are always around $95-100 range just FYI

Heat doesn't seem to be an issue looking at some reviews and T7 Shield is much better than regular T7 especially at sustained writes.

They are so hit or miss. Reading some comments on YT people complain about heat issues. I will try the shield version and see. It's nice to see SSD's dropping in price now

There were two versions of T7 the T7 shield is different from recent reviews it seems it is not impacted by the heating up... T7 is a year or two year old the T7 Shield was launched either April or may this year.

Yeah I have T5 which are awesome and was really trying to like the T7 but the issue with heat simply couldn't be ignored

This review has pretty good comparisons between Shield and regular T7 along with others. I'm just pissed I missed the 2TB T7 Shield "sale" for $120. BB via eBay canceled my order.

The 95 to 100 for T7 usually is not for 2tb but 1tb..the recent expired deal glitch was T7 shield 2tb for 119$..

Anyone use this as a dash cam for their tesla?
Not this particular model but I do use the 500gb one and it's worked fine without issue for 3 years now. I'll note, I live in Phoenix where summer temps are ridiculous and I've never experienced any overheating issues with the drive. I think you'll be fine as long as you use Tesla's cabin overheat protection feature. The drive's operational temperature upper limit is 70°C which wouldn't be exceeded if you use the cabin overheat protection. Also, Tesla's should now auto overwrite the oldest footage so you don't need to be constantly removing the drive to clear space. That's the reason I got the 500gb in the first place so I didn't have to remove and review it so often. Now it's a non-issue.

It works well for this purpose. It is overkill on size like some have said, but you could also partition the drive and use one partition for music if you have a big flac/mp3 collection and don't want to rely on Tesla subscription streaming or phone Bluetooth for music.
