Great receiver. Can't do better for an entry level home theater

Does anyone know if this has preouts for zone 2. Id like to use 7 channel (5.2.1) for the living room and then a 2nd amp heos preout to the patio.

Ya and I'm waiting for the 3800. Not dropping $1k on a refurb 3700 from 2020. I'm hoping for an update in a month from them.

Just noticed 1700 has 7 channel and zone 2 preouts. So I might get one to test if I can 7ch and heos through those preouts with an external amp.

2022 receiver news have been awfully quiet. Usually we would have heard something by now.

Probably the chip shortage, which ran right into sky-high inflation, which ran right into the recession in the US.

No one I've spoken to with ties to retail have any real high hopes for the 4th quarter this year.

That said, my decade old Onkyo is starting to crap out. May pull the trigger and see what this "4K" fuss is about.... LMAO

I've been holding out for a deal on something with 100 discrete watts/channel. I'm a sound fan but not hardcore, don't have wildly expensive speakers or anything. Is 100W overkill?

I'm still rocking my legendary TX-SR805 from 2007. When I finally get my 6050, I'm going to convert that thing to it's own dedicated amp. Using the Russound ADP 1.2 to connect the two.

The Onkyo TX-SR805 and its stable mates are still the best sounding receivers I've run across. I have 3 of them and have no idea why they sound so much better than others.

I think you mean this one:

Onkyo TX-NR6050 [costco.com]

I just ordered both, Denon and Onkyo, so I'll be spending my weekend bench testing these using the Klipsch 5.1.4 speaker set from Costco. I'm not spending 700-1,000 bucks for a nine-channel.

My HT-R590 was a refub from Onkyo and is losing signal to the center channel. It had a good run!

You and the guys at AVS forums use a bunch of lingo that goes right over my head, I just plug shit in and hope I get my lefts and rights wired properly! laugh out loud

They're Costco-specific model numbers. So technically, no one can match the price because only Costco sells it.

Why buy a 7channel when you need 9? I've been focusing on Denon mostly due to HEOS. Should I be looking at onkyo? I was scared the brand might be discontinued. I do like that they added Dirac
