They have some good knives but this isn't one. Cheap feel on the handle and a strange locking system. Honestly it feels and looks like a knife you would win at a carnival.

I have a ton of good cold steel knives - this is not one of them. I wouldn't give this knife away; it's that bad.

Save your money, or buy something else.

I'm not familiar with this brand is it supposed to be a good knife? 5Cr15MoV is pretty common steel I thought for cheap knives

Bought one last deal for under 5 bucks I believe. Does not lock open, only held under very strong tension. Blade length is huge, and sharp as any other cold steel which is excellent. Handle is a bit light, overall worth the price. Easy to slip into the pocket when I know I might need some extra length on a task. 2 hands to open tho

Own the version without the keychain... or whatever that is. Can confirm. Garbage. Worse, it is dangerous garbage. High chance you'd draw your own blood with it.

Now if you need something to cut fishing line and don't care about it rusting away in your tackle box... still... just maybe.

That said, I too have some really stout Cold Steel knives. They need to stick to making quality or they'll end up shooting their own brand in the foot.

For the price they're fine. I use mine as a tackle box knife.

If you're thinking of carrying it, make sure you check local laws. Most places a folder with a blade over 3.5 inches can't be concealed.

You see Cold Steel, but this isn't a cold steel. I don't know why they bother putting their name on this. It is a knife, it is sharp, that's about it. It's very flimsy, and IMHO the lock design is downright dangerous. You have to pull that ring back then push on the blade with a lot of pressure in order to release the lock and I've nearly cut myself several times.

This is a REALLY old design.... I have two of these which were made in the 1940's ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okapi_%28knife%29 )

From what I have seen just need to cut just past the tail into back bone. Step on tail and pull. This should get the job done but probably a wider knife would be a better long lasting knife.
It would work though.

I have a Kudu and it's one of the most boring knives in my collection. The only things I like about it are that it's sharp and it's a pretty knife to look at. Beyond that, it takes up too much space for what it is. If you're going to get a Kudu, I would suggest going with one of the slip joints. It's clunky but better than the ring lock.
