Apple users who don't know how to format the drive so that it'd work for their computer. Then they return it to buy another hdd that is "Official mac compatible" for an extra $200 lol
Grab several, test this thoroughly with CrystalDiskInfo and badblocks, see if these are indeed new. WD is known for being really good about hiding the SMART data in terms of when the drive has defects.

Overall, even for non-critical storage you don't want things to fail! But you may luck out, and these are brand new!

How are these overall as a refurbished device? Looking for some cheaper drives to move data around, not for long term storage.

4Tb for $55 also, not bad. Might be good for some non-essential files.

I know WD is mostly soldered USB interface drives for their portable line, does anyone know off the top of their head which drives are shuckable?
