You forgot to mention RTX 2060 was actually sold out for most of those 3.5 years. RTX 2060 production restarted last year when 3000 series cards were in short supply and there was lots of unused production capacity for 12nm Turing. You could say it's new supply produced to meet old demand. This is new stock, not some unsold stock sitting in a dusty warehouse for years. If there was no pandemic, supply chain disruptions, crypto craze, crypto winter or any of the other crazy black swans of the past 3 years, I might agree with you.

I posted the first RTX $349 MSRP "deal" here on slickdeals. It got 25 thumbs down. A few months later it was down to $280 but RTX 2060 has received a frosty reception here since day one.

The fact this card is still being sold new at retailers is a disgrace. This card was released more than 3.5 years ago.
If you had posted this 5-6 months ago I would have agreed but Nvidia can't even sell out their current 3XXX stock so why the hell are they still making 2XXX cards?

The fact that this is being sold for 210 despite the original MSRP being over 340 is a signal that this card ain't selling. Not too many other cards are seeing a 38% drop from original MSRP.

This isn't attack on your deal, 200 dollars for this kind of performance is actually decent relative to other offerings. It's merely the fact Nvidia chose to re-release this for the 10th time (2060 super 2060 12gb, etc) during which they are also planning to release the 4xxx series is ridiculous.

That 1660 super for $199 hurts. I just bought an Asus TUF for $359 plus tax around March 1st. Win some lose some.

I bought this exact card in Feb of 2019 for $325 from Evga with Anthem laugh out loud DLSS is a lifesaver and is going to extend the life of this card immensely. It's a no brainer spending the $10 more over the 16xx card.

I think this is actually the best price / performance deal that I've seen in a card in the past 6 months or more. Maybe best value in full 2 years since prices shot up.
But will prices keep dropping? ..

Except it's not the same card. It has 50% more cores than your old one.

Like I said new stock to meet old demand. The timing may be awful for Nvidia who committed to buy billions $ of chips from TSMC. Nvidia tried to reduce their 4000 series orders but TSMC said no. I think Nvidia will delay the 4000 series rollout or price them higher to help sell older cards.

Current rumors point to earlier than expected releases but time will tell. There's no way to say if the rumors are right but when there's smoke there's usually fire...

I meant affordable 4000 series. Who wants to buy 4080 if it's over $2000? If it's reasonably priced then bots and scalpers will buy them all up. If they wait 6 months to sell affordable 4060 for $500 it will help the older cards sell.

Just asking out of curiousity ...

How would you know that kind of thing for sure ?

I don't know if Nvidia actually publishes such details on what # of what chip they make when do they?

If the serial number starts with 22 I believe it means it was labeled, packaged and most likely manufactured in 2022. I don't have any special knowledge or insights. I bought several EVGA cards since May when prices were trending down and they all have serial numbers that start with 22. I always register my evga cards for 3 year warranty and in case there is ever a worthwhile step-up available within 90 days.

Thx op, Bought the 2060 sc for 210.00, nice upgrade to my current gtx 465. Years ago I missed out on the 199.00 sale for the 1660, and then the crazy high prices happened so I just stuck it out with my old vid card.

Ah. OK yeah, that definietly makes sense. Thanks for explaining. I wouldn't have thought of that.
I do know that SN's often work that way. And I confirm EVGA forums are also saying the first 2 digits of the SN is the year of production.
