I have mine going nonstop for 4 years. Place the fan at the corner of the room and aim at the top opposite corner for the best circulation of air. Most days I don't even turn on the AC because it feels cool enough in the room. My poor ass in a rented room doesn't even have dual pane windows or sufficient insulation. Its so good my ex stole it from me. (Not kidding). Alexa isn't even needed but it's cool. The power button turns it on full blast and that gets annoying but tolerable. Normal 660 usually sells for 99. Alexa enabled is usually $30 more. The regular 660 cannot be controlled with a smart outlet if that is important to you. The 660 pushes air hard and far. on higher settings it is not quiet. Low settings you can barely hear it and still feel air 20ft away. Remember This is a good price but not exactly a "Slickdeal" like we have seen in the past. Even if it is one it won't be that much cheaper.

I believe he's referring to the same model without Alexa.

These behemoths are awesome. I've had one chugging every single night for the past 5 years and it still works like new. Remember to disassemble and clean the blades when needed, I found it's about every year.

Bed bath and beyond has the 660 model with a knob. That's the one I currently have with a smart outlet. Awesome fans and TONS of air moved by it.

Pretty accurate rating, one discrepancy: I have this Alexa model, pushing the power button turns the fan on to the last used setting, not full blast. Otherwise, yeah, great fan, quiet on low setting yet still pushes tons of air.

I'm confused by the comments that say they have had this model running in their spaces for 4-5 years. According to Amazon's own website the Alexa enabled model was released less than 2 years ago. It is even cited, specifically, in their PR release about developing with the Alexa kit.

I think that just means when amazon started selling it, not when it started selling.

I had the 660 for last five years but then I bought this,.

This saved me when my ac broke. I think 660 is fine but it can nowhere be a ac replacement.

they are referring to the original 660, before they stuck in the alexa module to make the 660AE

they are exactly the same fan, except the AE has the alexa module built into it

I think you're mixing it up with another fan. This vornado 660 is only 15" tall with a 10" blade.

that tiny thing really worth $100? I could careless about Alexa, in the market for a fan. Originally thinking the bigger bulker models for $75ish, but this model would really out-perform those bigger fans?

Perfect description. Love this fan (mine is sans Alexa).
