Don't see the benefit of Samsung OLEDs when they don't support Dolby Vision. Especially when they're so much more expensive.

QD-OLED tv's have much brighter individual colors than a WOLED does because of it's pixel structure. Specific colors get hundreds of nits brighter than on a WOLED. Dolby Vision is nice to have, and it's ridiculous Samsung doesn't include it, but you can get the same panel tech in the Sony A95K with Dolby Vision. The Samsung OLEDs are actually priced cheaper the LG G2 line and have better performance overall.

This is a QD-OLED with a different pixel sub-structure... Overall, a much brighter OLED panel

Do not understand how they didn't get Dolby Vision? Like what? Makes no sense.

Black levels are a thing of the past, just as burn in is for OLED. This is an excellent comparison (albeit to last gen OLED). https://youtu.be/RftSdszq4GA
Black levels are a things of the past?..huh
In the video you linked you can clearly see the better black level in the CX
And honestly he could have gone into the intricate shadow detail that an OLED can do that no LCD can match. Bladerunner 2049 has an excellent scene, in my opinion for an OLED demo, in a dark room where you see the intricate details of the salt and pepper on Harrison Ford's face

Then there is that change of color and brightness off angle that OLED does not have

As for burn in...I have actually had a warranty payout for it for an OLED before

Samsung doesnt do DV...they went with HDR10+

If you have to have DV you can buy the Sony A95K QD-OLED that has it

I'm not so sure about burn in being a thing of the past. QD OLED might be better than regular OLED, but it can still get burn in.

I bought this during the last deal less than a month ago with the $200 Samsung credit. Anyone know if Samsung will honor the lower price if I contact customer service? (assuming no b/c of extra promotional credit)... I bought using my amex platinum but dont think they offer price protection any longer *sigh*

OLED & Bright? Isn't OLED meant for dark rooms?
Nope. Samsung oled upped the game quite a bit. They're new qd-oled are way brighter than LG and now LG is in real trouble
It's a game changer, and it will just get better since it's their 1st gen qd-oled.

For normal use, current gen OLED should NOT have any burn in. Of course, remains to be seen in 5 years or so, but doubtful. Anyone that has burn-in either has much older OLED, or some specialized use, or just a defect.. it happens to any and all electronics

Why'd you go from QN90 to this one? Isn't the QN90A already really, really good?
I didn't like the motion and vertical panning shots would show banding in the middle of the tv. It would constantly happen and I found it annoying

I'd really like to see where the black levels of the CX is "clearly" better? Could you share the time of the clip you see this at?

The one area OLED remains king is overall dark scenes that have bright elements. Ie, a cityscape at night. OLED do shine.

Having dialed in my qn90a after weeks of tinkering, for most sources, you won't be wowed. It's great, but not a giant leap. Since QD-OLED is max 65", these will drop in price VERY quickly. Not years, months. Id only recommend if you NEED a TV now, whether adding, replacing an very old one, and if the size is right. Don't downgrade size just to have qd oled.

Again, I'm not suggesting qd isn't beautiful, it's just limiting either on wallet, size or both at the moment.
I had an issue with how the tech would expose banding which I don't think was overcome with the Qn90B. I had the opportunity to return the qn90a for a full refund so I took it and essentially paid the same price to get the s95B. I'm happier so far with the motion and lack of banding. I would see the banding constantly in things like movies and anime.

Can you watch a cable news channel all day, every day? Without *any* concern about burn in? You can with LED. You can't with OLED. Can you with QD-OLED?

I just got this tv, it looks amazing. Motion is super smooth and specular highlights in hdr really pop. It's also a lot brighter than measurements would suggest, I am coming from a QN90A
What size are you coming from?
