The old Thinkpad will be faster, but pretty old at this stage. Depends on your OS preference and form factor. Much different performance/use case.

I would be using it mainly for Linux, for Windows, I am planning on getting a brand new Lenovo Thinkbook,

Windows is a no-go on this Chromebook and Linux involves some work. The Thinkpad is probably your best bet.

Can't complain what you are getting at $100. If you just need something to stream you some Netflix and argue here on Slickdeals about why you are giving thumbs down to all Microcenter deals because they are in-store....this will do just fine!

I looked at the recent wave of N4020 deals. Better than this CPU, but I didn't see anything at 14" and 1080p.

Does anyone know if Chromebooks support modifying CPU TDP much like ThrottleStop for windows does?
