Chain oil is a pain in the rear. Somehow it always makes it way out of the tool and over everything else.
main reason why I just use used oil. It gonna leak and need refill anyway and I have abundant of used oil. laugh out loud

Its not like the stuff goes bad if you keep it sealed up... but if you don't use it often like myself 1 gallon will last longer than the container that holds it lol. I might use my pole saw 1-2 a year to trim up some trees so I don't use bar oil very much.
I cut all wood for my wood stove that heats all winter in CO. I use quite a bit of chains and oil.I've used engine oil that I no longer used. Once I run out I will use bar oil.

Would this work well for lubricating a garage door?
typically you arent supposed to lube a garage door. it just attracts dirt and helps nothing.
if your rollers are frozen up replace them.

Add 40 lb bags of water softener salt for free shipping, if you have a water softener. Or hate your FedEx guy.
Such a great idea. Just ordered 4 bags of salt and the oil.

If you are looking for some real good quality oil for a pole saw and chainsaw, what is your best bang for the buck?

Use canola oil, it's just as good but will attract wild animals. 😆

Yeah, I saw that too... but to be fair, $13 is 30% more, right? Just seemed to me, given record high barrel oil prices (oil, not just gasoline) that $10 a gallon for specialty oil was a fairly good price.
Oil is down 30% from peak prices..

You know what, you're right... I just double checked and I see it for $7 at my nearest RK as well. Most SD'ers won't be able to take advantage of that deal due to the limited amount of RK locations near many of us (vs Walmart)... but that is a very good price for an entire gallon of specialty oil.

Better to use it for a lubricant than to eat those nasty dangerous industrial seed oils.
