Good drive. Should have the 176L flash, which makes it a candidate for Phison's I/O+ firmware. Kingston might push that for its Fury Renegade only, though.

Ad says "Low profile graphene aluminum heat spreader" but I notice people mentioning adding a heatsink. I'm looking to add 2tb into a 2022 lg gram 17. It def won't fit with a heatsink. Is it def something needed? Does the manufacturer say it's required? Thx for any info...

Can I use this in pcie 3.0? It'll be slower if so. Then, do I need a heat sink?

Probably not in most laptops.

Not 100% sure you need one in a PS5 really if you leave the M.2 cover off. Maybe someone can chime in about that.

How is this compared to the Hynix P41, WD Black and Samsung 980 EVO?

Yes how does this compare to Hynix P41 power consumption in laptops? Is the MTBF or total lifetime writes just as good?

Here... if you think this actually matters.

https://www.kingston.com/en/ssd/k...ity=2048gb

MTBF of 1,800,000 hours, TBW of 1,600. It will be long outdated technology by the time you've worn out the memory chips. If it had a TBW of 200 it would be plenty for over 99% of users.

Thanks for the feedback. Looking like the way to go for a slightly lower cost high speed gen 4...

Worked for me, ordered the 2TB previously and just ordered another 1TB with promo for an external TB3 enclosure. Overkill but nice, speedy drive.
