Product page says rechargeable is built in.
I would have assumed it was 18650 rechargeable OR the AAA battery carriage, so you'd have to carry the batteries with you to be an effective "backup"

What is interesting is lithium ion battery combine with alkaline batteries.
I know we saw this before. I ordered one a few months ago but they shipped me the standard non re-chargeable light. This time seems they fixed the website and description and in stock. Comes out $11.25 with 50% coupon. I just give it another try.

QUOTE=budster;157323550]Did you ever get the item and know whether the lithium battery can be removed and what type of lithium battery it comes with (e.g. 18650)?[/QUOTE]
i dont know how to post picture here but i can assure you it is not easy to find a replacement. there are two circle rings on top, the inside is positive and the outside is negative. it is a protection board with a regular 18650 wrapped. i carefully check the flashlight contact, you can replace with a regular protected 18650 button top but you need to make sure the button top not touch the negative contact nearby. there is another negative contact on the bottom like regular flashlight so regular 18650 will work but wont charge with the build usb port i bet. that is by design. anyway, a protected18650 cost $5, i am not planning to replace it once the included one is bad. overall, a pretty good build so i keep it. bright light and the switch click sounds good quality.
