I got a pair of these from this seller off of eBay, been using them for about 2 weeks now. I think the X5's are great. The "refurbished" pair I received looked and even smelled brand new. They just ship it in the case, with the USB-C and aux cables, so you don't get the actual Sony box but whatever. Would recommend.

Alrighty giving in (through eBay). Looked again at my xm3s and they are getting pretty beat.

I hope these are better at Bluetooth connections

ordered mine last friday from them, they ship by UPS surepost then transfer to USPS, it is set to arrive Aug 13...8 days yall and it was shipped from 1 state away from me...too damn long.

Have the XM3's, was playing a game on my PC and was blown away but the sound (I'm new to gaming). Immediately bought the XM5's out of impulse. Now that i have the XM5's I'm deeply disappointed and going to return them. Will instead buy the XM4's for an upgrade and give my girlfriend the XM3's.

I think the audio quality of the XM5's is great for sure, but I rarely have an "omg" moment when it comes to audio. Felt like i had a movie theater experience in the XM3 headphones and i'd never even known it.

if you are primarily using for PC, you may be better off to not upgrade to XM4, because the codec support for XM4 is not as good for PC natively compared to phone/Mac.

For me a big part about it is microphone quality, use these things all day for work. Supposedly the XM5s are much better on that front.

Yeah I agree with you... The XM3's have the microphone equivalent of speaking into a plastic cup. Super unusable in any practical situation. I'm still on the hunt for something good for work calls.

Unrelated, but I recently ran into software from Nvidia called "Nvidia Broadcast" that does a pretty damn good job of filtering out background noise when using any microphone connected to your PC (think kids playing / dogs barking kind of interference).

You need to tweak windows settings to not add reverb by disabling audio ehcancements on the audio output device. Worlds better.

UPS My Choice free upgrades solved this issue, so for those that have it- it'll arrive a bit faster.
