Great product. I use mine almost every day for streaming, Steam streaming and Kodi. Much better for kodi than firetv if you have a large library.

Its interesting to see most positive comments are from people who own this and use it daily. The nay sayers look at the spec on paper and call it crap or they dont have a use case for such a powerful player.

Mine freezes like it works bur everytime it turns on my remote won't work on it for 1 minute even tho stuff is moving in the shield

How well does this work as a Plex Server if I want to connect an external drive with large media files? My old QNAP NAS just chugs, but have heard mixed things about the Shield as a Plex Media Server.

I have the tube and it struggles with 4k content over Plex, not sure if the pro will do better or not. They share the same processor, but this one has better cooling and more RAM.

1080p is not an issue even over WiFi.

I have the tube and it's one of the worst purchases I've ever made. Couldn't be more disappointed after all the hype. Chromecast doesn't connect half the time, other apps freeze, buffering when same video service doesn't buffer in the same location on another device

I just bought Samsung 8K tv. I have my older one hooked up but honestly prefer to use the Smart tv function so I can get as much good picture as possible and minimize any loss in the cables. nVidia is still the best tv box ever. I would like to see a refresh or even better an 8K version. I think what would be the Greatest is if nVidia comes out with a 4K Blueray media streaming that is very powerful!

That might also require hardware acceleration, which requires Plex Pass, to run more smoothly. I had the same issues with Emby and when I purchased their premium pass and enabled it, the issues were resolved.
