You really need to look into board games that aren't Monopoly.

It's very clear you are don't know very much here. This is not a hasbro game designed a century ago.
This is made by Jamey stegmaier and Hargrave with art by Beth sobel. That's like Stephen Spielberg working with Tom hanks and Meryl Streep.
Also most board game DO retail for 50-60$. And literally many books retail for 18-25$ and the cost to print is minimal, while these board games have much higher production and shipping costs than you are imagining. Plus this game is widely regarded to be one of the most popular games pretty much ever among many board gamers. Also the retail mark up on these kind of games is much lower than many other products.

I'm not trying to gatekeep this hobby, but don't trash on a great deal on a great product that designers and artists have created. This is not a cheap piece of cardboard repeating boring mechanisms, with cliche art.

Ha, you obviously have not played a modern board game designed for adults. The component quality, number of components, and game quality is significantly greater than the garbage kids games that most people think of. But much like an audio CD, Blueray movie, or video game, you are not just paying for the media, you are paying for the production that went into the game. The majority of modern board games cost around $60, and many surpass $100.

The following provides a good explanation of the price breakdown.

Sorry? Most board games that consist of a board, cards, and some trinkets don't retail for $65. Even if this is a great game, manufacturer cost is basically nothing and feel like the manufacturer is price gouging.
Aside from the fact that the components in this game are high quality, It's about more than just the cost to print something. The artwork on this is stunning and to get great art you have to pay an actual artist which does cost money

Yeah, there'll usually more.

Just look at the shop column of the top rated games on BGG. [boardgamegeek.com]

Most board games consisting of that do these days. Especially better ones. And ones smaller than this are 50$ 😂

Great game! My wife and I have played over 40 times. This is a great gateway game to more heavier games if that's of any interest.
Dude, like I'm really into gateway games bruh

I'm curious about this as well. Is it still worth purchasing to play this game solo?

You play against an atumna. I personally do not care for it but 65.9% of the people polled recommend it, with another 9.2% indicating it is the best way to play, so over 76% think it is pretty good. (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardga...2/wingspan and click player count link).

Every copy of the game also comes with a coupon to get the Steam version at discount. I mainly just play that with a real AI if I have nobody else to play with.

Just buy the PC version, which has been bundled for cheap four times already.

It's even on Tabletop Simulator.
