Keep your receipt. Last year these 6K dropped on Clearance to $62 by mid-October. the 5050 went to $45. YMMV of course.

Yes. The weather varies from one part of the country to the next. And peoples' heating and cooling needs vary depending on their homes and what existing HVAC equipment it has.

I'm in California. I don't need heat. For about 2 weeks out the year, it will get hot enough that I like to use a window AC in my master bedroom, rather than trying to cool down the entire house.

Lots of people have central heating (like a boiler) but no central AC. We take our window units out in the winter so having heating is not helpful.
