Like most Clif bars, loaded with sugar. 17 grams. Glorified candy bar.
Apparently everyone here is a professional "boiled chicken and rice" bodybuilder getting ready to hit the stage. $1 for a grab and go bar with 20 grams of protein that doesn't taste terrible is a deal.
People are missing that the name is "BUILDERS".

these aren't bad but NOTHING comes close to barebells
Do you mean re: taste or nutrition? Kirkland protein bars have better macros than Barebell

28g net carbs to 20g protein? That's not a protein bar... That's a carb bar.

Sweet baby Jesus! 280 calories with only 20 grams of protein. Not quite a Snickers bar, but close enough. I bet they're delicious, though.

Maybe look at this as an energy bar with a sprinkle of extra protein?

These are delicious and are rarely under $1 a bar.
How is 20 grams in a small bar a "sprinkle". Anything with "better" macros is going to taste like nasty sugar alcohols ex. Quest Bars.

17 is a bit much, but it's better than all those fake sugars. People just get shocked at the number because they are so used to everything else showing 0g of sugar because of "magic". However, a quick check of ingredients shows these are far healthier than a Snickers bar.
Not all fake sugars are made equal

These are actually on the better side of protein if you are looking for a vegan bar. The sugar is high yes but I have these once in a while while doing 4 sessions of weight lifting and 4 sessions of soccer a week and they taste great

Other vegan/non dairy options top out at 10-12g of protein with similar sugar and usually have shitty taste profiles.

You have better options if you eat whey

Same issue in Tampa. The wrapper fuses to the chocolate on the protein bars. My last bag of chocolate chips became a single giant chip ! 😵

Costco in Sarasota has cases of 20 for $19, may be in yours as well.

Both mint and peanut butter

The 200-calorie protein bars from Quest, One, Pure Protein, etc. don't taste bad at all. Get your taste buds checked.

Kinda the point. Calorie/carb dense is good for hiking, biking, etc. I eat one preworkout with protein shake for convenience.

All these comments are actually true. The bars have too much sugar, they're great for middle or after long workout (hours not minutes), they don't melt as easily and make same mess some other bars do but they can, artificial sugars are different and people react differently to them, and lastly if I could only eat them after a workout I'd be fine but I reach for them like a snack whenever they're available- that's not healthy.

Good price, good enough for what it is, don't eat as snack like I do. Thanks OP.
