Chromebook sales have fallen off the cliff and if you are not in urgent need for one, wait for the 8GB models to start popping up for sale as well. As much as you try to slice or dice it, 4GB will become a huge limiting factor in coming years and i dont see this one would be usable by then. This is based on the fact that this laptop will stutter with 5 tabs opened which even for elementary school kids is a very low bar

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I am using a Lenovo Duet chromebook for very light web browsing and YouTube/streaming video. I use it mostly as a tablet. I am happy with it but this seems to be a pretty good deal and I wouldn't mind having the larger screen since I do use it a lot to watch video. I like the duet though because it's light and easy to toss and carry around.
Do you think it's worth it to get this and get the bigger screen and a little bit of extra utility and nicer keyboard?
I know many of the specs are different, but I like the Duet because of the detachable tablet/screen. This is too clunky to use as a tablet.

For that you have to look into processors. Mrcoolcat posted a good info here. Basically, the performance is almost 2x. The integrated graphics for N4020 runs at 200 MHz base and 600 MHz burst, but AMD 3150C runs at 1.1 GHz.

whats avg battery life on this 1.1ghz? the asus 17.3 with n4020 has an insane battery life. like 12+hrs. while the gold intel flex 5 only lasted 4 hrs or even less.

People are not buying this just for the 4gb of RAM. Check the overall specs. IPS display , yoga, backlit keyboard, Thinkpad build quality. The 8gb version of this won't be $150 unless it's 2025 and they need a fire sale.

I got it for the overall package and will turn on dev mode for Linux use.

Samsung Tab is lighter and has more of a phone experience as far as gestures, glass screen, and app usage.

A Chromebook is like a half android machine, half windows imo. It feels android but never slows down. Chromebooks are super snappy, even the lower spec ones. The play store is nice but the apps are just not built for Chromebooks so they don't always display well or function as they should. I have a pixel slate and apps just don't work that well. I rarely use apps. I assume most games will not work properly on a Chromebook. I tried to play PUBG once and it kept crashing.

If you're looking for a tablet to play games then I would just get a tablet.

Things I've enjoyed on a Chromebook more than on and android tab are:

- Word processing, browsing web, YouTube.

Things I've enjoyed more on a tablet are:

- Sketching, playing games, using apps to monitor cameras
What about apps for media streaming services but offline watching on a plane like prime video, Netflix, Disney +, and hbomax? Any experience with those?

I bet they haven't even manufactured enough units with 8Gb model lol. Let alone another Fire sale.

Does anyone have experience with putting Linux on this? I've been looking for a cheap laptop for light use when traveling and such to supplement my main desktop.
I've enable d dev mode and install Linux there. Works great with command line of that's your cup of tea.

Remote shell into my other systems and go to town with it.
