Sweet, SFO to OAK, here I come!
$80 to Bellingham (Vancouver, CA/Seattle) and Denver from LA area is a deal! $59 to Bay Area and LV, OK! This is from most of the area airports too, which is nice as ONT often gets left out on these sales.

$138 from LGB to Hilo. (Fantastic deal for people who struggle to pack light.)

All depends on where you are originating from and distance/date of travel/ popularity of routes. Operative word is 'starting' at $59

Good lord, no. All of the September and October flights for me, the cheapest is $90 and all are 7+ hour flights with a long layover and a plane change at either Chicago Midway or Denver. The non-stop flights are less than 2 hours.

Just be aware that Vancouver, BC is a 1.5h drive (and a border) from Bellingham and Seattle is a 2h drive.
Got relatives in Everett, so vs SeaTac, it's six of one, half-dozen of the other.

Didn't Southwest used to have a page that showed, airport by airport, which destinations had these special deals?

Now it's just a fishing expedition.

As low as $66 one-way nonstop between San Antonio TX -SAT and Dallas (Love Field), TX - IAH

I would drive my car instead going to the airport and parking and flying... just 3 hour driving distance.. why is it a good deal?

Some sales they show the page you're referring to. Others they don't. I prefer the page you're talking about too as it gives me ideas of places to go. I also know they test these different pages so i'm curious how the current one is doing.

I'm keeping an eye on round trip Christmas to New Years flight and prices are VERY HIGH. Has anyone else been looking around the same time?

Ain't that the case every year with every airline? Those are peak periods for traveling outside of Thanksgiving.

The Southwest 40% off deal about a week ago was better. With oil prices dropping, I'm hoping deals get better.

Most of these "Starting from $59 or $79" prices are between rather between small distances air ports/places.

I am looking from East Cost to San Francisco, and they come at higher prices.

I used to fly SW exclusively but last year, I didn't have a single flight leave on time. The smallest delay was over an hour, and one flight was delayed and eventually cancelled 3 times, stranding me in Phoenix. If you need to be somewhere that is time-sensitive, fly another airline.
I've flown Southwest 5 times this year, with every flight being on time or early. I flew just one with United, and it was delayed over 90 minutes because they decided to swap the plane after it was halfway boarded. Not to mention that even in Economy Plus on United's 737-900 my knees were pressed up against the seat in front of me, whereas I have plenty of room on any Southwest flight no matter which seat I pick. I was very disappointed all around, and will always check Southwest first.

Not sure why this was downvoted - my godparents just had this happen in SF. They arrived at SFO, and and all the major rental companies were out of cars so they had to go to small no-name agency and paid over $600 for a two-day rental. The shuttle driver told them that the rental car companies sold all their cars when COVID hit, then the used car markets boomed, so that paired with travel booming again means they're all in extremely short supply and prices are through the roof.
If you need a car rental, definitely do not count on it being available and/or cheap without doing plenty of research ahead of time.
I needed a rental car twice this year, and was blown away by the prices being charged. Both times I ended up booking through Costco Travel, and saved at least $200 over the cheapest rental I could find with any other site.
