It's good it activated for me & I've been a returning user & paid for service bf & used the free service bc also but the free service is better but just make sure you burn the music to disc bc after you cancel Apple Music the Apple Music also disappears from your library even if you've paid
$ 0.99 a song

It worked for me. So perhaps try again.

Note it is 5 months free for expired/returning users, 6 months for new never done it.

I have paid and also used codes. It tells me, my account has reached code limit. I assume I am ineligible to redeem codes for free music at this point.
