$70 is with ads just to note.
Worth it with Amex $25 offer?
I have the half off deal, and I am honestly having a hard time justifying that. I haven't watched anything on HBO/MAX for a couple of months.

Give how aggressively HBO Max is canceling content I'm not sure I want to pay for a year in advance.

If only they would let me subscribe through YouTube tv at a reasonable price

But $14.99/month is stupid and I have combined services so that I don't have a billion other services in different places that I forget about.

My half off deal ends Sept 17. Hopefully I'll be able to sign up then with the $25 off Amex offer.

There are a lotta great shows on hbo max, despite the negativity of this thread

I don't care about movies, but here's some good tv, imo:

Most recently I loved Tokyo Vice (american journalist investigates yakuza crime drama), the latest season of Westworld, the Taika Watiti comedy Our Flag Means Death (very silly pirate show), The Flight Attendant (Kaley Cuoco comedy thriller), and Barry (dark comedy).

Looking forward to the new GoT show and (much later) the new Dune tv show

Yeah, I used that on the ad-free version last year, dropping it to $80. Not a bad deal, less than $7 a month for the ad free version.

Stacked nice with the Amex 25, so 80 for the year no commercials

Tokyo Vice is a slow burn, but very underrated imo. Watanabe is great in the show, and I love the neo noir Japanese setting.
