Sorta related…

If anyone has anything purchased on the Bethesda Launcher, they're shutting it down and you should migrate your stuff to Steam.

I bought a physical copy (well, an empty box with a code) of Doom Eternal a couple months ago and was worried activating via Steam would not go smoothly however I was wrong. No idea bout the migration process but thanks for the info!

Some may not know this as I just found out, but if you liked Doom Eternal they released expansion packs that continue the story - Ancient Gods Part 1 and 2.

I feel like most people would mainly want the first 2-3 games, which, when priced separately on sale, don't make this bundle worth the extra $5 for the bottom 3, older games

I found Doom Eternal to be a very frustrating game that was more of a chore than actually fun to play.

You can buy these cheaper individually from Eneba. For the same total from Steam you can get the VR version plus extras if you really want the full collection.

Except that deal didn't include Doom Eternal (newest game), which has gone for $15-30, depending on the version. https://slickdeals.net/f/15439534-doom-eternal-steam-pc-digital-download-14-99?v=1&src=SiteSearch
The edition that comes with this bundle (digital deluxe edition) can be purchased for $23.09 if you just want that https://store.steampowered.com/ap...M_Eternal/

I've had them free on Gamepass for a year now and haven't gotten around to playing much of the Doom franchise. I played Doom 2 for 30 minutes. It didn't feel the same on the 82" 4K HDR as it did in the 1990s on my 20" CRT for some reason Smilie
I might try Doom Eternal next. Reviews look solid and it will probably look much better on a current gen system/monitor.

I enjoyed it except all the damn jump 'puzzles.' Not only did those require EXACT timing and aim but many of the next jumps were not clear until after you started so you could try a sequence 5-6 times before you even had an idea how to finish it. Then actually completing every jump was a pain in the ass....

You're not alone. It's a tough game to master but once it clicks it's loads of fun.

I preferred the more simple doom 2016 at first. It did eventually click and I beat the game, which says a lot. Cause rarely beat games anymore.

i'm an oldschool Prince of Persia fan... so i personally liked everything they added. but yeah, it was an odd choice for a Doom entry to have all those mechanics.

i thought the game was overall fantastic, but i can totally understand people not liking or getting frustrated with all the mechanics.

btw, since i've seen tons of people make comments, i played it XBox and had no issues with a controller. but again, i'm sure PoP conditioned me for it Wink
