Thanks for this. Option 2 is a nice route for a full year and a quarter. Option 3 is a great to option to try for 3/4 of a year at a low price if the service is worthwhile for you or not.
Is the Option 1's "2. Add another $40 cash to convert to Extra" done within your Playstation account after activating the Essential level? Like there is an option in your account to simply pay $40 to ugprade from 1 year of essential to 1 year of Extra?
The seem to want people to disable vpn to purchase for some reason. It's going to be a pass for me.
I bought a key about a month ago also - no problems then also.
I've had no issues with CDKeys so far. just wanted to share
I escalated through paypal. After 28 days paypal favored their side. I had to dispute via my chase credit card.
Even site like bad customer service reputation raise com i got immediate refund and apologies when this happened. With CDkey you should hope you are not unlucky side like me so no need to deal with their CS. I will never use them again.

The difference between essential and plus is $40. If you pick this, please , please report back if you done it successfully to help other.
I signed up for option 3. $55 for around 8 month and a a few days.

Move over to the three-dotted "More" option in the top right corner and select it.
Choose "Subscriptions."
Select "PlayStation Plus."
Click "Change Plan."
Choose "PlayStation Plus Extra."
Hit "Continue" and the plans will be compared.
Select "Continue" if you agree with the payment terms.
Choose "Accept."
You have now successfully upgraded to PS Plus Extra."
