Didn't know you could get these without an Rx. This is a great price, and for anyone who is doing keto, a great way to monitor how you're doing.

One of the video reviews on Amazon shows this is not reliable. The person got very different readings within a span of couple minutes. Not sure how reliable the review is. I ordered one when this deal was posted a few minutes before this current post and it was later marked as spam or something. I cancelled the order after watching the video review. Price seems really good though.

Your sugar level will vary based on what you ate and when you measure.

Also worth checking with insurance, at least if you have an actual diagnosis and aren't just playing with ketosis. Blue Cross apparently sends out free a monitor with unlimited lancets and test strips.

Blood sugar swings a lot with time, so you have to do this with care, either right before or about 30 minutes after eating. If you're diabetic and you have insurance, the FreeStyle Libre is a way, way better solution. You put a little disk on your shoulder and you tap your phone to get a reading instantly. No sticking your finger with a needle.

But it won't vary wildly within just a few minutes.

I understand that but the person in the video shows 3 readings taken within a minute of each other and got 3 different readings. This video is under the second question where someone asked if the readings were reliable. I am not against the deal but just not sure how reliable the readings are.

Personal glucose meters can be up to 20% off of a blood measurement according to the FDA and be considered in range.

Is this a known/respected company? I've never heard of them but this isn't an area I'm familiar with.
I can't imagine trusting my health care decisions to a generic/discount health device :/. Ymmv? Maybe better than nothing...but if you actually have concerns about your glucose levels you probably should buy a meter you trust.
they have typos in their graphics/description, so i am dubious. "aveage"

if anyone has a legit meter and buys this as a backup, please do a side by side comparison to see if it's accurate. it's a nice price

T1D here. I've used a lot of cheap meters and CGM's. I would avoid this one. It might have some merit for folks trying keto who have functioning pancreases and can process carbs on their own - but for any kind of reliable reading to base insulin bolus injections is hard pass from me.

I've compared a handful of meters and my CGM at the same time and the cheap ones are always WAY off.
