I heard Doom 64 is a surprisingly good iteration of Doom that may be under appreciated. The philosophy of level design evolved and it stands out as its own experience. Until I heard that I had always assumed that they'd simply ported the original Doom to the N64.

I hate fortnite but I've never actually played it. It sounds unfun to me.

No building and all melee combat, but still the same formula and similar art style.

I hated Fortnite with all the pointless building and players who seemingly had scripts / macros (PC version) programmed to magically erect buildings around them as an instant barricade however on the Switch, perhaps the PC too, there is a new-ish mode with building completely eliminated so it is more like a cartoony PlayerUnknown as opposed to an ADHD stairway to heaven instant build escape route or bunker that appears in under a few seconds. That mode is actually quite fun and the players generally are not impossibly good like you'll find in some online FPS games....makes me wonder if they are not bots those as filling servers with pretend players is getting more and more common than Dev's admitting their game has no userbase.
