Pretty nice deal on the replacement splinter guards for the Makita guide rail. (I'm fairly certain these work on other guide rails as well, but not 100% certain. )
I stocked up for life at $7 each.
CCC says "Best Deal" so stock up now. I'm sure they'll be $20 soon lol.
Protip: As your splinter guard gets beat up, you can peel it off, then clean the strip and guide rail edge well then apply good dbl sided tape to guide rail, and mount strip back on, but move the edge out a bit. Now you can make a new clean cut, and get 2 or even more uses out of it. ... The More You Know!!! 🏳️ 🌈

FWIW: You can peel & restick these to get more life out of them... and a heat gun will help with cleaner removal

Well... not throwing you to the wolves, but if you don't have a left hand, it is a BFD. Lmao.
I used to be a lefty, and track saws were the one tool we could say "yayyy we finally get to show righties what almost every other tool is like!!!"
But I get it, I'm like one of maybe 1,000 people in NA alone with this tool issue. So I don't expect the world to accommodate me.
But using your left, with the saw to your left would you still consider it a tool for righties?
I mean, for crosscut, it doesn't matter. But if your ripping and you could have the saw to your right, and the blade reversed to the left, it would make it so much more user friendly. But it's strange, companies don't make them... Especially since 90% of power tool users are considered righties.
There's plenty of scenarios wher Left blades are superior (with track saws) like if you're ever doing beveled Rips in 2x lumber for things like French cleats, the left blade, in your right hand, will point the blade away from you. If it in your right hand, the blade points at you.
Just think of this... Kreg... the plastic diy pocket hole company... they make the ONLY left blade track saw in the world, and it's a brushed, corded $400 (with a track) pos. Lol. But they sell tons. Why? Not because they want an overpriced WEN, lol, but because it's a left blade. That's $$$ that Festool, Makita, Bosch, Dewalt, and soon, Milwaukee is missing out on.
If Festool would make a ts75 with a left blade, and sell it at a ridiculously overpriced $1,500 , I and many others would buy it right away. (But Festool told me "We will never make any left blade saw." And that means Makita and everyone else won't either, because all they do is go down the pyramid of copying the next highest quality tool. They don't think, they just copy.)
The crazy thing is, these companies would sell so many. I mean, if you could buy say a corded Makita for $300, or a corded Kreg (a company that has NO OTHER POWER TOOLS) for $300, which route would you go.
And in the end, it's a matter of righties not knowing what theyre missing. They don't have, and have never tried a left blade "Track Saw" that they can compare it to. And if they tried the Kreg, then I don't blame them for thinking left blade track saws are 💩 lol.
Sorry about the Novel... but it's truly a "Let them eat cake" situation. Once a "Good Left blade track saw comes out, righties will learn what lefties already know.... Right blade track saws are built for lefties.
So next time, just imagine the blade being on the left, and how that would benefit you, I'd you are a righty. And, if the $600-$1800 saw system you have, should be better.
I admire your passion about cutting things. Also I thought Hilti made a lefty saw. But I might be wrong, I usually am.
