This deal is live again. I felt like I missed out last time when I didn't pull the trigger.
Find an associate code online to get an additional $6.30 off

(One note that people have made is these come from a rejected 2080 die so you can expect up to 47% improved performance for some workstation tasks but not in gaming.)

Bought last time and currently running it.

Haven't seen that happening yet but yes, that's what some say.

I have heard a weird sound tho, like a "tick". It comes up randomly and not too often but don't think it's normal. Frown

Ive used a few of these for client builds in the last 2 years, they do well enough but its a matter of perspective. The 3080/3090s memory at 100+ is hot to me while the die on this at say 75c is good.

The tick is the fans. Something about them is causing the tick. I think it was covered in the Gamers Nexus review? or some review I saw on youtube mentioned the tick.

Anyways the 2060 KO is a cut down 2080 iirc. For gaming this will perform no different from any other 2060 on the market. For productivity this will actually punch above its price point. Somewhere between the 2070 and 2080 for productivity.

No, it sounds more like a literal "tick" sound

Could be the fans... hopefully doesn't mean they'll fail or anything like that as the card seems to be operating well in my limited usage.

Regarding the extra power, yep, my card (maybe all the KO Ultra ones do) has a TU104 chipset which is the one with the extra power for certain workloads.

Does it have HDB fans?

EVGA cards with HDB fans have this problem. I had this issue with 2060 ultra. One problem is that a power wire going to the fan can protrude a bit and scrape against it when the blades flex a bit. Just look into the fan housing and gently tuck away any wire that seems to be protruding into the fan blades area.

The second issue is that the EVGA HDB fans have bearings that make a clicking noise when starting up from idle. And they have the ability to go to 0rpm depending on temperature.

If the fan curve is such that the fans keep switching back and forth between 0rpm and positive rpm, you will get the clicks. The work around is to adjust the fan curve so that they maintain a minimum rpm (you will have to play with the minimum until the clicks reduce) in the operating range which will reduce the clicks to only the time the card starts to get used but not during use. There is no complete solution to this.

This is the 3rd sale of this kind from EVGA for these 2060s within the time span of 2 weeks. They must be really desperate to get rid of these cards.

Rx6600 is really quiet and is $259. I think we might see it hit $239 on a super sale and that would be very decent.

For $239 or less, I'd take the rx6600, with it's +2gb vram and 10% overall performance over the dated 2060 any day.

Still meh. $100 sounds about right for this if we're feeling generous.

This is the exact card I bought back in July 2020. Still in my main computer I use all day everyday, doesn't give me a hiccup, no issues. Heat is okay, VR ready with Quest 2, albeit will run a bit hot.
Overall a good card, I paid $309 for it 2 years ago. I'm picking one up to make a build for my living room so we can do VR in a more open space.
