Haven't heard anything about my order yet what gives Grainger?????
I confirmed my order on 8-21 by email and then called a couple of days later to ask when I could come pick it up (Columbia, SC) and they said it would be the first week in Sept before I could come by and pick it up.

$46/4.8 = $9.58/5quart jug
I'm not so strong with mafs, but I'm pretty sure 6 gal ≠ 4.8 gal.
I guess you meant 6 gal = 4.8 jugs.

Oil does not come from dinosaurs.

I ordered from GoVets early Monday morning. Still no shipment notification as of Friday morning. At this point, i'll be surprised if they don't cancel my order.
Thanks for the update. I came here to see if anyone had reported that govets had shipped or if they are waiting for stock. I haven't read too many positive reviews of them, so I'm pretty wary of giving them any money.

My understanding is that there are no rules about blend so it literally could have a drop of synthetic and qualify as blend.
There are also no rules about 'fully synthetic' in the US.

Due to a legal loophole, Group III oils are frequently labeled as synthetic oils. While they are quite altered from the crude feedstock they come from, it's a bit of a misnomer.
A true synthetic oil is generally a Group IV oil combined with Group V additives in order to form a "true synthetic" oil. PAO oils have an even bigger advantage over Group II oils(the most common conventional oil) than Group III oils.
Unfortunately, if you live in the United States, it can be hard to ensure that you end up with a true synthetic oil. A court ruling in 1997 upheld the right of oil manufacturers to label Group III oils as synthetic.
Unfortunately, there's no regulations requiring the labels to say anything about it on the bottle, so you'll have to do careful research yourself to ensure you've got the best oil for your motor.

You should look into FCPEuro, everything you buy from them is lifetime guaranteed, yes even brakes/oil etc. You have to ship the old oil or parts back and they will send you new
Woah, do you use this service? What's the catch? I got a gti that's gonna need some brakes soon.

That's not even one oil change for the 4 daily driver vehicles in my family that each get at least 2 changes a year.
Then there's the project trucks and miscellaneous equipment.

I'd happily order 24 gallons if there was a Grainger anywhere nearby.

Would 5W30 be ok to use in generators and other small engines that recommend 10w30? Or is it too thin?

Thanks
5w30 can be used in place of 10w30. 10w30 tended to shear less than 5w30, but modern oils are more resilient. Most big box stores don't carry or have limited selection of 10w30, and many people have used 5w30 in engines that are labeled for 10w30 without a problem for decades. You can also use 0w20 in place of 5w20 without a problem.

ATF in oil will not clean or do anything good. Its a thin oil product with almost no detergents in it.

Now there use to be whale oil in much older ATFs and that was acidic and helped break up dirty oil. But that was back in the day and it was cleaning up oils that were much less robust as current oils.

Newer SN/SN+/SP rated oils should never need a flush or extra additives if they are changed on time and not allowed to get low.

So skip ATF and other wives tails and just top your oil off as needed and change on time and you will be good.

Newer oil specs are so demanding its almost impossible to make a oil that meets the newest SP oil spec and not have some synthetic additives/base stock in it.
I wish I had 5 hands so I could upvote this even more.

I so want to buy a few boxes of 0w20 or 5w20 to put this in a high mileage Sportwagen TDI commuter car. 30 weight not available, but probably fine since full synthetic. In before the "your chit gonna blow up" crew haha.
