I believe this is the top selling stun gun on the market. considerably lower than Amazons price. you never know when one of these might come in handy. I'm actually using this to protect my dogs and myself against aggressive stray dogs that may be roaming my neighborhood when I take them on walks.

If someone is wearing thick clothes, the stun gun may not work.
If a person is on heavy drugs, neither may work LOL
First of all, the price difference with Amazon is only a couple of bucks, and the Amazon seller has 99% positive feedback (or actually only a few cents price difference for the VTS-103)
Second, there is NO PRODUCT INFO on the Vipertek website. I mean there is a useless catalog which has NO SPECS, NO RATING, NO POWER OUTPUT in µC. Seriously. What kind of BS is that? What kind of manufacturer is that that doesn't put product specs in their own product listings on their own web site? That's just plain stupid and shady, Sorry. See vipertek.com
I tried figuring out the differences between their various products, and I found a couple of comments that mention that TS-195 is supposedly around 1µC as rated by SABRE (their competitor) but TS 103 is less that 0.5µC (good enough to just scare but not seriously incapacitate).
If you guys are serious about this for personal protection, why not spend extra $10 and purchase this
https://www.amazon.com/SABRE-Tact...pons&psc
for $22 instead, rated 2.517 µC - much higher than *any* of the VIPERTEK products (according to the scares info I am able to find).
Also Sabre seems to be much more reputable and seems to be used by police departments around the country. Also sold by amazon.com rather than a 3rd party dealer.
Seriously. Thanks to OP for bringing up the topic, but I don't see how this is either a FP deal or a good product. Unless you want to save $5 and get your ass beat because you used underpowered piece of junk instead of something with the actual stopping power...
For the record - I know nothing about the stun guns, I was just shocked by the complete luck of info or specs on most of the VIPERTEK listings including their own web sites, and with a little digging seems like pretty substandard product with much better comparable products selling for just a few bucks more.

Just a regular neighborhood where loose dogs are running around that escape from their house or their owners let them roam free. Animals can be unpredictable. Just playing it safe. Some protection is better than no protection.

On a separate note, I use a Vipertek VTS-T03 for work. Vipertek is a very reputable. The only reason I use the other model is because it's also a flashlight, and looks like one, so it's non aggressive looking if I have to pull it out and less likely to get others riled up unnecessarily. As far as dogs, your best bet is just to carry a heavy blunt object like a baseball bat. It will help you maintain a fair safe distance if a dog gets aggressive, and if all else fails you can take a swing at it and possibly disable it from attacking.

It's just another tool man, sometimes you're not trying to kill.
Ya some people don't want to take a life, shame on them 🤣

I mean that's one extreme, obviously not what I'm referring to.
