Good impact, good price, especially NIB from Amazon. You can probably get it cheaper open box from a 3rd party who parted out the $400 (MSRP) impact/hammer drill kit when Makita was running free tool promotions.
In this case I'm guessing they are clearing out inventory as a new model (XDT19) is out. Initial review showed nearly identical specs so I wouldn't rush to upgrade as this is still an amazing impact for the money
Impact + bit holder is only $4 more at $107.40, so may as well.
Guessing this may not be worth if I don't have a battery and charger?
The XT288T which hovers around $300 lately comes with impact, drill and two batteries If you don't already have makita and want their top-tier stuff, that's the place to start. $100 each for the tools and $50 each for the batteries is a great value. There are about 1000 alternatives that get the job done for less. This is kinda like buying a Porsche
