Man, this was in the heyday of my PC gaming, back when I had a PC Gamer magazine delivered to my house and my CD burner was whirring every night.

I recall somehow playing this game i between my countless hours of Unreal Tournament and Worms: Armageddon.

Man, this was in the heyday of my PC gaming, back when I had a PC Gamer magazine delivered to my house and my CD burner was whirring every night.

I recall somehow playing this game i between my countless hours of Unreal Tournament and Worms: Armageddon.

Good sweet Jesus this was a game. I got the DEMO (remember when these existed?) on a PC Gamer demo disc back in like 1998 and played through it and laughed my ass off. It's been freeware for ages now, had a huge modding scene. It was recently remastered for HD.

I'm not gonna lie and say wow what a deal, because honestly it's been free for like 15 years now. But I am gonna say do yourself a service and play this game.

This game is fantastic. The difficulty ramps up quite a bit later on but the story is quite a comedic trip.

Funny flashback for me.. I actually called the company to buy this game as an early teen after playing the PC gamer demo . The guy on the phone was confused "wait, You really want to buy it" I remember his perplexed reaction. "uh yeah dude: I said.. "ok its 20$ then"

I liked the map making feature. The full game as it was then is bugged once you get to a the "2nd chapter" or some point after the 1st main mission. I was never able to progress unless I used the map editor. Fun game back then building maps. trying things out. They are doing it right by making it free. I believe I've seen this free multiple times.
