no, this drone is better than a mini 2. it has obstacle avoidance and the mini 2 does not.
the nano competes with the dji mini 3 pro. i have both. this is a good deal for the nano. it's not the best drone in the world and it's not perfect but it's pretty good for a sub-250g drone with no geofencing.
there will be critical discussion (about bugs) and lots of bad reviews on this autel drone as with almost all drones. all i can tell you is i have zero issues with mine and this drone has a warranty and you can get autel care (which is similar to dji care refresh). my only complaint is like most smaller drone, wind could be a factor. this little drone is not going to be happy on a very windy day.
It definitely does not compete with the mini 3, it was meant to beat the mini 2 which it did, but released before the 3 and gets beat in every way by the 3.

Good price, good drone. I looked hard at the Nano+ but with the price premium over the Mini 3 Pro I went the for the claimed 47 minute flight time the Mini 3 has (with the bigger battery.) At $699 I would have jumped on the no geo-fencing and slightly better sensor from Autel.
Both are good drones. $699 makes the Autel competitive.
You should make it clear this is the 3 battery bundle that is usually $1099.

Thanks for posting. No geofencing sealed the deal for me. I also own Mavic 3 and Mini 3 Pro and plan to keep those, but aggressive geofencing have gotten in my way too many times. So this is going to be my backup no BS/no geofencing drone. I am part 107 certified and not planning on flying anywhere prohibited by FAA, but DJI certainly goes beyond that at times. I previously had Parrot Anafi for no geofencing, I guess it's time to upgrade.

Definitely leaning on that side. Videos looks so good. Planning to use it for real estate photos and videos
This is not legal advice but practical advice. For real estate I would probably go with no geofencing, i.e. the Autel drone. If you want to fly over a house at 50 ft and take a couple of still and videos, you would be able to do it with Autel *anywhere*. On other other hand, with DJI you will be blocked in many locations - even if you want to take off in front of a house and go no higher than 50-100 ft.
I owned DJI Mini, Mini 2, Air 2, Air 2s, and currently own Mini 3 Pro and Mavic 3. I love those drones and yet still purchased this deal to avoid overly agressive geofencing by DJI. You literally can't take off at all in many locations. I understand if they would just limit you altitude, or distance, or whatever, but they will block you from flying completely. Doesn't matter how good the drone is if it doesn't take off.
Again, I'm not a lawyer, this is not a legal advice, just coming the experience of flying DJI drones for several years and being a non-recovering drone addict.

Edit: can anyone else chime in regards to weight classes. Registration? Part 107/license requirements?
