Assuming I won't be gaming/video editing - is this a good deal for the other specs?

i7 with 32gb 1tb SSD seems decent for $1200

It doesn't seem too bad for the specs, but I feel there's been better deals. Can't think of any off the top of my head though. If you're not planning to do anything particularly resource intensive, you could save a bit of money and go with the LG Gram or Asus Vivobook deals at Costco instead.

What about when it comes to power management, heating and terrible drivers for A370M?

It's going to consume a bit more power than a comparable AMD or 1260p for sure. As long as manufacturers keep cramming these higher tier CPUs into slim chassis, there's always going to be thermal throttling. If you don't plan on gaming or rendering videos the GPU (hopefully) shouldn't be an issue.

Thank you. How much extra power do you think they can consume? For example, a 70Whr Ryzen 6900HS machine vs 75Whr 12700h (this machine). Would they have almost similar battery life ?

This is actually a good deal for the specs if your looking for a work laptop that supports dual 4k external monitors. I'm interested to know how you got the lead on this deal? I can't find it mentioned anywhere. Thought about buying it now as Cosco is good at monitoring sales and refunding money.

This is a pretty good deal. The new intel graphics card is holding its own. Benchmarks show that it's doing well.

If this was a 2 in 1, and had a fingerprint reader, I would have bought it. Still waiting for Lenovo Yoga 7i 16" with 32GB RAM and 1TB (the best buy deal that was $1299 few weeks ago) to drop under $1200 and I have lots of patience. I can wait forever!

You can currently get the Yoga 7i doing a custom build with Windows 11 Home for $1367.99. Includes 12700h, 32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD. I ended up buying the Yoga instead.

Sharing for the benefit of others;

The good: The screen is awesome, the build quality seems solid, and you get a nice amount of RAM and disc space for the money. The camera face recognition to log in is a cool touch as well.

The bad and ugly: The camera is really bad; very grainy and not good at capturing light. The speakers are also pretty sad, and aimed at the table (or your lap). If you are an audiophile, this machine will anger you. I was also annoyed by the amount of advertisement I experienced in setting up the computer. The reason I returned it though, was battery life; about 5 hours when I was just sitting on the couch doing some holiday shopping. I swapped this machine for the more expensive Macbook Pro 14 ($1599 at the time of my return). WOW, it is certainly a better machine and well worth the extra money when the price comes back down again. The 6 speakers sound better than any laptop I have ever heard, the screen is beautiful, and the battery lasts over 15 hours while couch surfing and viewing an occasional video.

If you mainly use your laptop as a plugged in work station, the Lenovo Slim is a powerful machine with a great screen and storage capacity for the price. If you use your laptop on the go or like to be unteathered, then pass this one up.
