Motorcycle jackets are general more for abrasions and burns due to wiping out at high speeds. The asphalt basically becomes an axel grinder against whatever part of your body is touching it until friction slows you down...by grinding away at you. I'm guessing your concern on an e-bike would be a collision. Unfortunately you're still gonna be a squishy ragdoll in that situation, albeit *less* squishy. Consider mountain biking gear for an e-bike. You probably won't be going the break-neck speeds motorcycles run at which necessitate this kind of jacket. This will also be warm since motorcycles get cold from the wind. Pedaling will make you warm, even on an e-bike. So check out "downhill mountain bike protective gear" if you want to look around. If you WANT to be warm, excessively padded, or just feel cool then maybe it's worth it to get this. Just pointing out its limitations and your other options.

Seems like a fine deal. Fort nine mentions this jacket in their best under $200 video. Complaints were the water proof liner cannot be removed so all you got are those vents. Of course, the back protector place holder pad. Tempting price, but I'm going to pass since the main feature is water proofing. I need ventilation in dry Cali.

This site charges $8 per order for return shipping that's deducted from your refund.

Would this be overkill for an e-bike?

If you're going over 28mph then you should definitely get something like this. Otherwise, it might be overkill but then again, it isn't like you'd regret having the protection in the event of a crash.

Yup, I've had the pleasure of going down twice in my riding life. My jacket definitely saved my skin without a doubt but thats because I got lucky and lowsided on flat ground. If I had highsided or slid into a curb or object, would've been a different story.

You have to select the Free Standard Ground Shipping option, if available. It specifically says at checkout that shipping via USPS is not eligible for free shipping.

As someone who has wrecked at 20mph and 80 mph, both hurt. Badly. My skin was destroyed on my shoulder and elbow at 20mph. At 80 I was wearing a jacket and pants, only damage to my skin was my ankle where the pant rolled up over my shoes. (Bike, helmet, and persons fence was destroyed however)

Yes, this is great for an ebike. As is a good quality helmet. Too much protection might look silly, but its never "overkill"

I still have my leather track suit and a tricked out Honda Grom. I ride with leathers on it most of the time. Jacket, helmet, boots all of the time.

Edit: Dyslexic brain missed a whole sentence.

Even not clicking USPS, there is an $18.90 shipping charge. Says you need $30 more to get free shipping.
