S Mode works fine for 4GB on W11. Once you take it out of S Mode all bets are off tho.

Ps. You're limited to the Windows App Store in S Mode and the selection is terrible. Can't even get an app for Zoom in there, forget about chrome or any other browser besides Edge.
I agree, a lot of people prefer lighter tablets. If this HP 11 was very popular it would not be selling for 66% off in the same year it was released. One of the first comments I get when I hand someone a Windows tablet is that it is heavy. They are not for everyone. I voted it up not to convince someone who needs a light tablet to switch, but because it is a great deal for a Windows Tablet.

This HP is not heavy for a Windows Tablet.

HP (and reviewers) say it weighs 1.32 LBS or 598 grams. Mine has not arrived yet to weigh.

The Lenovo Duet 3i which is a lower powered Windows tablet with a smaller 10.3" screen weighs 567 grams.

The Surface Go 3 with about the same power and a smaller 10.5" screen weights 544 grams. I do not know of a 500 gram Windows tablet, but a lot of Android/ IOS weigh a lot less.

Most Windows Tablets are offered with keyboard and attached kickstand because that's how people who want Windows tabs often use them. The weight does not matter as much when it sits on a table or a bed.

But Windows tablets are not for everyone, for sure.

BBY has it with the keyboard for $300. [bestbuy.com] The keyboard lists at $150.

Always check Bestbuy for available open box. $209 with keyboard for Excellent in my area.

Kills it for you I guess...too bad, for my uses, web browsing, Netflix, etc. its fine.

HP has the 8GB version for $400 [hp.com] ($200 off) or $500 with the keyboard.

I got in on the brief 4GB Microsoft Duet 3i Windows tablet deal at $100. That one has a slower processor and slower/less storage....it works fine for what I do. There are actually 2GB/32GB Windows laptops out there....those REALLY are slow.

You will really need a hub with this HP 11, cause it has just 1 USB-C port. But the camera is pretty cool, as is the 400 Nit Display.

I would feel differently if it was $500 or its original $650....but for $210 open box excellent with keyboard, I am less picky.

This thing is heavy at 23.2 oz or 657.71 gram. You want a 11" table around 500 gram.

With only 4GB of RAM, this doesn't seem all that much better than a 10" Fire Tablet. Windows 11 itself probably uses 3.5GB which leaves very little for left for apps to work with.

I really miss my old Windows tablet and like to have it to run Windows programs mainly for a bunch of hardware tool support. But these specs are pretty minimum.

I think I'd rather spend a few hundred more and pick up a used Surface tablet, but that's just me. I must say $200 is pretty tempting though.

Edit:Looks like HP has a repair video on youtube on the 11-be0000 model, not sure how it compares to this 11m-be0013dx model. But the 11-be0000 model does have a removable M.2 2230 drive if anyone was curious about possible upgradability (assuming you have no issue removing the adhesive display)

If windows runs too slow, can android or linux replace it and would it be easy since im a newbie? If so, would all the devices work with the other os drivers? tia

Pity that hackability/altOS-ability doesn't look promising, it could've been useful.

In Lon TV's YouTube review of the HP 11 (8GB version) [youtu.be] he said LInux worked fine, except the camera did not work.

ChromeOS Flex, which is based on LInux, might also work.

Installing either one is similar, you make an install USB Flash Drive from instructions on the Web, and then boot from the drive. The nice thing is that you can run either Operating system right from the drive to see if it works before you decide to install it....so its safe.

However, it is a bit complicated (for example you need to be able to get the bios to boot from the USB Flash Drive)...so a newbie should get help.

Agreed, too heavy. Also heats up. I got a great deal on it but returned just did not meet a tablet needs for me.

I have a laptop with 4G of RAM running Windows 10. I limit myself to web browsers and youtube music. Then, I migrate it Ubuntu and so far it is working fine. However, I dare not upgrade the OS to Windows 11 because Windows 11 has higher RAM requirement.
And this listing has a tablet PC running Windows 11 with only 4G RAM. What was HP thinking?
