They work great, have a listed 20mph and 30 mile range. I removed the limit, so depending on your weight, via throttle you can get up to 25 mph. I get 22 mph via throttle. It is single speed so it is hard to go above it on a flat road. I may put in a bigger front sprocket so I can ride it with some effort at 25 mph.
Could be a decent way to get a strong ebike on a budget, especially if you have a suitable bike already. It may not look as clean as a retail ebike depending on your cable management skills and such.
You can also get 1500w kits or 2000w kits for a little more, but keep in mind the batteries needed for higher wattage are pricier too.

edit: never mind. I can find kits for a bit over $200.
I actually have a bafang mid drive and battery sitting in boxes for 4 years. Too much to try to figure out if I could get it to work with my tandem recumbent.
Much easier to buy a 350W 10Ah bike for $360 and make use of it right away!
