This was $850 on woot about a week ago. This may be the best price now though as I don't have a time machine.

Plus with Amazon you get free returns for any reason and you get to try it out for 30 days. Imo better to spend a little more than settle with an $800 avr you don't think sounds up to par in your room space. Personally I'm waiting for the 505 to come down but so far no luck.

btw- I own a pioneer vsx-90 5.1.2 and looking to upgrade to 5.1.4. If you don't already know all Pioneer avr's have only one crossover frequency that you can set for all your speakers. For me it's worked well. I do have 7 speakers all the same brand and model outfit. I would think that the one fixed crossover might be a little disadvantageous if you have different model/brand speakers in your setup (but hoping you have 3 matching fronts). -Maybe some audiophile can answer this question?

Woot still has it with Klipsch bookshelf speakers.

Yeah, but those speakers aren't what I would match with this receiver. There is a klipsch set for $1350 in another deal that should pair up nicely.

I agree, those speakers are no match for the Pioneer receiver.

i just purchased an open box for 800 off Woot. I am not sure how the pioneer warranty for it will work. Any ideas. I know they are very particular about place of purchase when dealing with warranty claims
