You can just refill these with CaCl2 ice melt from places like home depot.

This may be cheap for this package, but the refill tubs are regularly $10 for 7 pounds if you use a lot of it.

Don't know if this will help anyone, but I've been buying an 8oz package of what I think is the same "active ingredient", except off brand, at the dollar tree for years. They work great.

Copy and paste? I do realize that that's like a 4 step process if you include going to the website of your choice to paste what you copied.. but the advantage is you dont have to wait for someone to reply with a link to click on. Boom, time is one of the most valuable assets , so youre welcome for that little slick deal

psst...

CaCl2

highlight that^ , hit "copy", go to your favorite online retailer and paste it in their search..

Wink

Dollar tree carries a "Moisture Eliminator" that is 9.8oz that I've used in my trailer and safes for years. Same stuff I think. Seems to pull moisture out of the air.

Yes its a good idea. Calcium chloride is 50 lbs for $20.

-But- they will list a quantity of say 150 bags in stock (home depot or lowes) but as soon as you order online your order gets cancelled and they quickly change the inventory to zero. (I tried) - You will even go to the store and they'll say they're out. Then you have to look about 3 stories up for a while until you find it. it'll be all wrapped up in plastic and you'll have to get a worker to bring iin the stairs on wheels who is cussing you out under his breath as he tries to get one bag out of the entirely wrapped pallet of bags. Then you can take your bag and head to the register while getting confused looks from other shoppers.

- You can either do that - or buy a few extra bags of damprid refill and wait til winter to stock up for next summer.

This is "passive". No electronics, just some powder out in the open sucking out moisture.

(This actually worked nicely in the bathroom, removing the moldy smell).
