Picked up a PB-2000 pro with small scratch on back for $799, replacing a Klipsh R-100SW, it's going to be a big upgrade.

The Monolith M12 will extend a little deeper and has a flatter overall response according to anechoic measurements. The advantage of the SVS is customer service, the ability to trade it in (within the first year) through their upgrade program, and the app. The app sounds like a trivial thing, but it's actually really nice to be able to make tweaks to the sub from your listening position without having to get up. It is also pretty powerful.
If you have 2 the app is not as important.

I have not had to adjust my PB-1000 Pro lately. When I had just one set up, It bottomed out often. Now that I have two subs, I was able to turn down the gain on both. The extra headroom allows you to set it and forget it.

I bought two PB-1000s in the Memorial Day sale, and then even though I was a little past the 45 day free return window they let me send them back and upgrade to a SB-4000 without paying shipping. That was 18 days ago and they just emailed me to refund against the current sale price. Big fan of their service and the sub is great

I first tried 2x pb1000. Pretty underwhelmed. Returned and bought 2x pb2000. Huge difference to try them side by side. Also have a 3000 micro in a different room. Quality subs. I would suggest to look beyond their entry level stuff.

Can anyone tell me how a PB 2000 Pro compares to the Monolith M12? I am not as familiar with SVS.
Having recently made that comparison again, overall they were similar.

The impression of the difference was again the SVS reproduced what we heard more accurately, the monolith dug deeper giving you deeper bass.

The built in DSP and app are extremely helpful if you like to make adjustments especially if you use it for music and movies.

Keep in mind there are vast many other things that influence the sound you hear like environment and placement.

It's best to compare them yourself to actually know which works best for you and your setup/environment.

.
Was the THX EQ setting enabled on the Monolith when this comparison was made? When it is THX requires that it must meet very low distortion levels which would in turn make it sound more articulate at the expense of not digging as deep. Audible? Not sure.

I've got an 2 older SVS SB12-NSD's in my media room. They do well enough, but I kind of miss ported subs and wouldn't mind some more performance. Would a PB-1000 Pro be a big upgrade?
To me, the SB12 series sits in between 1000 and 2000 series. So technically, SB12 should be superior and it does have the bigger driver. I also have 2 SB12-NSDs in my media room and I love them. Bought them from a similar sale couple of years ago for 350$ each and I know I wont get such price/performance ratio if I upgrade now. The difference is in the ports. I like the tighter base from closed boxes.

How is this a sale when they have the same prices every day. Great subs, but no bargains here.
Depends on what you're looking for. They are selling some items in brand new, undamaged condition for outlet prices, such as the Prime Bookshelf Speakers. $249 vs $349 is a big discount. The outlet items at further reduced prices typically sell out very quickly.

I've heard this consistently, but Monolith are bigger, uglier and have worse customer support. Bang for buck it sounds like you can't beat Monolith, especially at the larger driver sizes. I wish more manufacturers offered the piano black finish that SVS offers.

Was the setup done correctly yes. Proper setup and placement is one of many factors that play a significant role on sound performance for someone.

A subwoofer is technically a speaker so yes it is "audible", it does also involve feeling it also.

Low distortion requirements is one of many performance factors of a sub.

Can I hear/feel the differences by just hearing/feeling, for me no I can not.

Since every environment and setup is different not to mention the many other factors that will influence sound.
This is why auditioning the sound performance of something within your setup is important to actually know how it will sound/perform for you IMO.

If reading some requirement tells you how something will sound to you, completely your choice, I am not(could not) debating that.

I've had the PB-1000 in my Amazon cart for like two months at $499, and it's that price at SVS.

Would an outlet PB-1000 for $400 be a good buy? It says no damage, so...is it an open box return or something?

Hard to believe, but after doing some digging after posting this question yesterday, that's the answer I arrived at too. I feel like I have a pretty good setup, but I had no idea that the SB12 was between the 1000 & 2000. Having two of them, I really felt like I'd get more "oomph" than I do. Thanks for answering.
