Zinc is thought to have some anti-viral properties when taken early on before or right after exposure. That's why people take it as a prophylaxis against covid. But be careful of taking it on a regular basis, as zinc blocks the body's absorption of copper. That's why good zinc supplements often add in a little copper to offset this, which this product doesn't do. So if you plan to take this regularly, you might want to consider taking some copper as well, whether as a multivitamin or additionally

A good mix for immune support but remember to have this with a meal. Zinc is one of the few supplements I take that will make me puke on an empty stomach.

I haven't been able to find out what amount would be considered detrimental, and perhaps it's best to avoid it altogether. However, studies involved consumption of products containing large amounts of sucralose, like multiple diet sodas daily. I don't know the negative affect of the tiny amount in one small lozenge daily.

That being said, I believe in this product, and this is a great price.

Partner and I take these. I definitely take after a meal because I am unable to eat or drink anything other than water for hours after. They leave a film or aftertaste that makes everything taste nasty. Partner does not have the same experience.
