Zinc is thought to have some anti-viral properties when taken early on before or right after exposure. That's why people take it as a prophylaxis against covid. But be careful of taking it on a regular basis, as zinc blocks the body's absorption of copper. That's why good zinc supplements often add in a little copper to offset this, which this product doesn't do. So if you plan to take this regularly, you might want to consider taking some copper as well, whether as a multivitamin or additionally

I get zinc free from my health insurance company via CVS. Normal price is $5 for 100 count 50mg. Not chewable, but then I don't see the value of chewable. Right now they are offering a BOGO.
